Olive oil soapI N G R E D I E N T S 6 kilos left over oil (from frying)1 kilo sodium hydroxide 1 container of water, not full (14 kilos) 1 kilo salt
P R E P A R A T I O N Mix the oil, the sodium hydroxide and the water in a big pot and boil them fortwo hours. Then, add the salt and let the mix boil for another hour. You can tell the soap is ready by the following technique: put a drop on you hand to see if it dries and peels off your hand, like fish scales. When this happens, turn out the fire, add half a kilo of water and stir well. After 15-20 minutes, sprinkle with water and pour it in a level container, like a roasting pan. The leftover liquid should be of limited quantity. The fewer the leftover liquid, the better the soap. This liquid is used as a wooden floor cleanser in old houses.
